Seferihisar Municipality, which has been with the earthquake victims since the first day of the disaster of the century that stifled Turkey, provides full support to meet all the needs of the earthquake victims who came to the district.
Experts, who determine the basic needs of earthquake victims, who take their first steps in a new life in various hotels, hostels and houses in Seferihisar, with special surveys prepared by psychologists within the Seferihisar Municipality, ensure that the needs are quickly communicated to the earthquake victims.
“Psycho-social Market” in Seferihisar for earthquake survivors
Under the umbrella of Seferihisar Municipality Family Counseling, a team of volunteer psychiatrists and psychologists with experience in disaster trauma supports citizens and children who experience earthquake shock. Sociologist-Specialist Family Counselor Şükran Tozduman from Seferihisar Municipality Family Counseling stated that a psycho-social market was established in the marina in the first two weeks, and the earthquake victims were both introduced to the region and provided with psychological first aid support. Stating that they are working with volunteers to heal the wounds of earthquake victims, Tozduman explained that in the future, psychological support will be given to earthquake victims who need it.
Explaining that the personnel specially trained by the psychologists within the municipality under the umbrella of solidarity, will continue to work for the earthquake victims, Seferihisar Mayor İsmail Adult said, “Our municipality works day and night with our volunteer citizens in order to meet all the needs of our guests who come to our district. Our expert staff will continue to visit the places where they stay for the earthquake victims who come to Seferihisar. We do our best to improve the living conditions of our citizens who are victims of the earthquake. We have been with our earthquake victims since the first day and we always will be,” he said.
