Raynaud’s disease

by clinic

It is a disease that usually progresses in recurrent attacks in the presence of cold or stress, mostly resulting from deterioration in blood flow to the fingers or toes.
During attacks, blood vessels in the fingers and toes narrow for a short time and blood flow is temporarily impaired. At this time, discoloration occurs in the affected fingers. First, the fingers turn white when the blood flow is interrupted, then a blue color change develops due to the blood pooling in the veins when the flow stops, and after this short-term narrowing, the blood flow returns to normal. Patients may experience pain and numbness in the fingers when the blood flow stops, and swelling, tingling and warmth may be felt when the blood flow returns to normal.
Sudden constriction of blood vessels may develop in cold or strong emotional stresses such as extreme excitement, which may cause Raynaud’s Phenomenon.
It is usually seen in women between the ages of 18-35 (80-90% < 40 years), symmetrical (bilateral) hands and fingers or feet and fingers, nose, chin and ears (10-50%).
In an advanced Raynaud case who applied to our clinic, drug treatments were administered before coming to our clinic, and amputation was decided as the case got progressively worse. As a result of this severe case, the patient experienced bouts of pain, sleep disorder and severe emotional depression as a result. Body and Ear Acupuncture, Soft Laser Application and Phytotherapy methods were applied to the patient in our clinic.
From the first session of the treatment, improvement in the patient’s sleep pattern, psychological relief, and reduction in pain attacks and severity were observed.
From the third week onwards, the crusts on the wounds fell, and in the following sessions, the inability and loss of sensation in hand and motor movements began to improve, and the skin color returned to normal.
At the end of the sixth week, complete recovery was achieved.
Acupuncture and Soft Laser Therapy application has shown a rapid, effective and permanent recovery as it affects the patient’s autonomic nervous system. It was observed that the disease did not relapse in the following years.
Acupuncture, laser and phytotherapy application used during this treatment does not pose any risk for the patient
