Acceptance language is to make you feel that you accept whatever the adolescent tells you with your body and facial expressions. It’s about not interfering when he’s telling something and making eye contact to make you feel that you care about what he’s talking about.
In active listening, you listen unconditionally to what the other person says, as in the acceptance language. In addition, you reflect the other party’s feelings and thoughts under the words and sentences used to indicate that you understand the other party, or in other words, you send them back.
