Oil pulling is a process based on Ayurveda, Indian medicine. You can think of it as a process of taking some oil in the mouth and gargling.
So why is it being done?
Our mouth is the first stage of the digestive system and has a unique flora in the mouth. As well as good bacteria, there are also bacteria that cause gingivitis, tooth decay and plaque formation.
Coconut oil used in oil pulling is preferred because of its antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effects. Oils such as sesame oil and olive oil can also be used.
How to do oil pulling?
Take 1 tbsp of oil in your mouth, swirl it in your mouth for 10-15 minutes, gargle, then spit out the oil.
