Around the eyes; It is one of the earliest aging areas due to its thin skin structure and the use of mimics. In addition, depending on the age of the eyelids; Inward turning (entropium), outward turning (ectropium), drooping (ptosis), under-eye bags and sagging can be seen. All of these conditions can only be resolved with surgery. Eyelid Aesthetics / Blepharoplasty For the sagging of the upper eyelid skin that occurs with age, eyelid aesthetic surgery, namely “upper lid blepharoplasty” is applied. This surgery is performed with local anesthesia and takes approximately 45 minutes – 1 hour for the 2 upper eyelids.

Retinal detachment is something that occurs in any part of the retina, and it is the separation of the retina from the layer below it after more retinal tears. The intraocular fluid passing through the retinal tear gradually lifts the retina. If it goes unnoticed and progresses, central vision is lost with the detachment of the retina in the yellow spot region. Surgery is required as soon as possible. If the tear is noticed before it turns into retinal detachment, it can be treated with laser. After retinal detachment develops, it is surgically treated with gas therapy, local scleral buckling, scleral cerclage or vitrectomy operations, considering the location, size, number of tears and other accompanying clinical conditions of the retinal detachment in the eye.

With the developing technology, artificial intraocular lenses have also made progress. Thanks to these Smart Lenses, it has become possible to obtain an uninterrupted and fluent vision at far, medium and close distances. When the natural intraocular lens, which has lost its transparency and elasticity, is replaced with these smart lenses, the patient can get rid of all his glasses for life. However, lifelong cataracts do not develop in patients implanted with a Smart Lens.

Uveitis is inflammation of the middle layer of the eyeball, which we call the uvea. Uvea is an important tissue rich in blood vessels. If uveitis is not treated, it can lead to decreased vision or loss of vision. Uveitis is divided into three as anterior, intermediate (intermediate) and posterior uveitis according to the place of involvement in the eye.

Meniere’s disease and vestibular rehabilitation
by clinicby clinicMeniere’s Disease and Vestibular Rehabilitation It is a chronic disease characterized by dizziness, buzzing in the ears, tinnitus, a feeling of fullness in the ear, nausea, vomiting and heavy hearing, which occur as a result of hydrops in the inner ear fluids. Our aim from Vestibular Rehabilitation; 1. OBJECTIVE: To accelerate the central compensation process (thus reducing vertigo and postural disorders.) – to feel safe, – not to have trouble participating in daily active life, – to prevent falls and injuries and – to isolate from society * anxiety, * panic disorder and * major It is aimed to get away from additional psychological disorders such as depression. 2. INFORMATION: Before the patients are included in the rehabilitation program, they must be informed and it must be ensured that the patient understands this situation. This is important, this program is prepared as a program specific to the patient, it is not a miraculous treatment program, if he actively participates in the treatment, it will provide maximum benefit.

prof. Dr. Ümit İNAN, Pars plana vitrectomy (PPV) is a technique used in vitreoretinal surgery to treat conditions such as retinal detachments, vitreous hemorrhage, endophthalmitis and macular holes in a controlled, closed system. The procedure takes its name from the vitreous removal from the eye (ie vitreus + ectomy = vitreous removal) and the introduction of instruments into the eye through the pars plana.

The image of the objects we look at falls on the retina region in the inner part of the eye, which we call the retina, through the light. The image of the object we are looking at in the center of our field of vision falls on the macula. The macula is a very small part of the retina located in the center. It is only about 5mm wide, but is responsible for our central vision, most of our color vision, and fine details of our central vision. The macula has a very high concentration of light-sensing cells, which we call photoreceptor cells. Photoreceptor cells process the incoming image and send them to the visual center of the brain as a signal via nerve fibers after photochemical reactions. The image is processed here, and the image from both eyes is combined and interpreted, and converted into a three-dimensional image as we see it. Areas of the retina outside the macula process our peripheral or side vision.
