AHEF officials stated that family physicians work by taking the responsibility in every troublesome issue, but they are separated from other health institutions in terms of additional payments, and they make 3 months conditional payment instead of 12 months, and they will emphasize their 12-month unconditional payment demands again and again.
The Federation of Family Physicians Associations stated that their problems have not been resolved with the change in the regulation covering additional payment, and stated that it is not acceptable to make additional payments conditional and to pay family physicians for only 3 months, while they are paid unconditionally for 12 months in all health institutions.
Federation of Family Physicians Associations (AHEF) President Dr. Ozlem Sezen; “We want to draw attention to the fact that the demands of family physicians are not met and their rights are not respected, with the amendment made in the “Family Medicine Payment and Contract Regulation” published in the Official Gazette dated September 5, we want our voice to be heard,” he said.
Dr. Sezen said, “We are extremely upset that our efforts and efforts were ignored. We would like to underline once again that the additional payments to be made to family medicine workers started in August, but the epidemic started in Turkey in March.” Stating that they were treated as stepchildren while they were burdening their physicians, following their vaccinations and pregnant women without interruption, and taking an active role in vaccination studies at the moment, Dr. Özlem Sezen stated that they would not accept the neglect of the 12 months they worked so hard for.
AHEF, objecting to the conditionalization of the additional payment to be made in the amendment of the regulation regarding the spread of the pandemic, said, “You have once again reinforced our insecurity by ignoring our professional honor with your conditions that reached the summit with the condition of authorization, negative performance, current classification condition and pandemic condition. We demand that it be fixed as soon as possible.”
Reminding that twenty-seven thousand family physicians and family health workers are struggling with the epidemic, Dr. Özlem Sezen added: “During the Covid19 pandemic, we fought the epidemic intensely, while occupational safety and health were not provided in any way, as family physicians, we are working hard on Covid19 vaccination! We did not and will not accept this dishonorable approach while physicians continue to perform the requirements of our profession as they have for centuries.”
