Our health workers continue to provide uninterrupted health services in the earthquake zone for 7 days without saying a word.

Each of our health workers, who are health workers and who lost their relatives, family members, friends, relatives while working in the earthquake region, continue their duties with silent cries and crying inside. We kiss each of our friends on the forehead. Good luck to you.

However, as always, in the earthquake in which tens of thousands of our citizens lost their lives, there is no one who hears the voice of our health workers who were also affected by the earthquake and wipes their tears.

Health workers who lost their friends in block A of Iskenderun state hospital say that some of those who were in the hospital during the earthquake were under the collapse, and the houses of those who were not on duty but were at home were destroyed. There are thousands of health workers who are injured and their families are dispersed.

And health workers who want to go to the region from our other provinces on one side, and doctors, nurses, technicians, 112 employees, who were called to duty because there is a staff shortage on the other side.

No official asks the health personnel who are affected by the earthquake and continue to work and are called to duty, how is your psychology? Is your house destroyed? How is your family? Saying.

Our healthcare professionals, who will serve our nation, should first know that they and their families are safe, so that the margin of error will be reduced to a minimum in the provision of health services that do not accept mistakes.

In the image reflected on social media, one of our health personnel is trying to explain his problem to the Minister of Health; “Can I tell you something, we are working in the operating room today. 7. Today we are in a very difficult situation, that is, we worked in such bad conditions that seeing those patients, those amputations, everything, we are now having nervous breakdowns, so we are earthquake victims, no one understands us, please do something about it. It is very important to understand the situation of the health workers that the Minister of Health continues on his way, the bureaucrats next to him try to remove the minister from the environment and warn the personnel who are trying to explain his problem, saying, “You are on duty right now.”

In the statements made by our Honorable Minister of Health; “Until 20 February 2023, for those of our health care workers working in the disaster area who have relatives of earthquake victims, they can be deemed to be on administrative leave…” Ensuring the necessary ease in granting administrative permission…” Although the statements in the explanations are not precise statements, they are not sufficient either.

So what can be done?

First of all, our health care workers serving in the region should be rested without any conditions, Our health workers who want to be able to change places with our employees in other regions, even if it is for a temporary period of three to five months, If their relatives in the earthquake zone request, they are reassigned to their hometowns.

We think that the establishment of sufficient field hospitals in order not to work for fear of earthquakes is important in terms of morale, motivation and service quality of our health workers.

In this earthquake, in which tens of thousands of our citizens lost their lives, the destroyed hospitals showed that our health institutions, which will serve our people, should be built with the latest technology and earthquake-resistant so that they do not collapse.

And our friends in the region state that one of the most important problems in the region is the lack of coordination. Some of the problems experienced are those who go to the region and wait for hours, and those who are kept waiting at the airports for hours.
