The breast is one of the erogenous organs that symbolizes femininity. Every woman wants to have aesthetically beautiful looking breasts. However, the fact that the breasts are larger and heavier than normal can cause neck, back and shoulder pains, hunching due to the deterioration of the normal upright posture, excessive sweating of the lower surface of the breasts in contact with the abdominal skin, rash formation and fungal infections, and fungal infections. It can leave deep scars. It is possible to get rid of such complaints caused by large and sagging breasts with breast reduction surgeries.
The technique of the surgery varies according to the size of the breasts. With the surgical techniques developed in recent years, it is possible to achieve an extremely upright and lively breast image of normal size and fullness, with minimal scarring from the nipple circumference and vertically extending from the nipple to the inframammary line in mild to moderately large breasts. In such applications, depending on the amount of breast tissue removed, it is possible to breastfeed, although there may be a slight decrease in breast milk when giving birth in the postoperative period. On the other hand, the surgical techniques applied in extremely large breasts are different.
In addition to the surgical scars described in the previous technique, scars are formed along the inframammary fold line, and it is not possible to breastfeed when giving birth in the post-operative period. Regardless of the technique applied in the surgery, the remaining surgical scars are not very obvious in people with fair skin and normal wound healing physiology. However, the clarity of the scars may still vary depending on the age, genetic structure and structural characteristics of the skin.
The operation is performed under general anesthesia in a full-fledged hospital, its average duration is 3-4 hours. The hospital stay is 1-2 days. Although the surgery involves a large area, there is no pain to bother the person after the surgery. The pain felt can be easily controlled with painkillers. During the surgery, the breasts are lifted more than normal considering that they will take their new shape with the effect of gravity over time. Due to the effect of the surgery, edema (swelling) and slight bruising may occur in the breasts. However, after about 3 weeks, the edema and bruises will improve, after a few months the breast will go down slightly, the lower edge of the breast will regain its normal shape and the surgical scars will gradually begin to decrease. It takes at least 6 months for the breast to take its full shape and reduce the scars. At the end of this period, if there are wound healing problems that may occur due to the effect of the change of gravity and static tension forces on the skin after the surgery, it can be corrected with small interventions that can be done under local anesthesia.
After breast reduction surgery, a striking improvement is observed in the physical and mental state of the person. Complaints caused by the size of the breasts disappear quickly, these complaints are replaced by a feeling of lightness and your self-confidence increases day by day.
