It is a common problem in girls.
It is most commonly seen in children who have diapers.
It is the adhesion of the inner lips of the female genitalia, the adhesion starts from the back and progresses forward, and sometimes complete closure can be observed, which makes urination difficult. If this problem is overlooked, urinary tract infection may develop.
The mother should observe the genitals during diaper change, and should consult a doctor as soon as possible if there is an abnormal appearance. In older girls, it is important to be careful in this respect while taking a bath and to evaluate the girl with urinary tract infection in terms of labial adhesions by examination.
Bottom care is very important in prevention.
In the early period of treatment, adhesions can be easily opened with a small intervention in outpatient clinic conditions. In delayed and recurrent cases, intervention under anesthesia may be required. After the adhesion is opened, the treatment is continued with epithelializing creams and oestrogen-containing creams.
