The family is where the basic physiological needs of the individual are met, the person feels safe, protected and taken care of; it is the most basic institution in which he receives love and respect; For this reason, the trauma experienced by the individual in the family is perceived as much more destructive than any trauma from the outside, the sense of trust can be destroyed and he may feel guilty over time.

Ways to Cope with Violence

Don’t see yourself as responsible for your experiences.

Remember that you are not to blame for the violence.

Violence is a crime and no one has the right to treat you that way.

Don’t hide it because you’re ashamed to tell what you’ve been through.

Don’t try to ignore it and put up with what you’re going through. No one has to endure violence.
