TREATMENT METHODS

First of all, the patient is diagnosed after being examined by the acupuncturist doctor (after the necessary laboratory and radiological tests). The patient is placed on the examination table face down or supine depending on the location of the disease and the condition of the patient. It can be seated if desired.
There is a wide variety of needles in acupuncture. The most widely used of these are steel needles. These needles are very sharp, almost hair-thin. It is applied by the acupuncturist with a very special method, without any pain, by immersing it under the skin or into the muscle. These points can sometimes be stimulated for 20-30 seconds and removed. The duration of treatment is from 15 to 45 minutes.
Needles have a length of 0.5–8 cm. Their thickness (Diameter) varies between 0.18 and 0.5 mm. Needles are generally disposable (single use) or sterilized by autoclave (sterilization).
The number of sessions in acupuncture varies according to the diagnosis of the disease, its duration and the age of the patient. This can be 3 to 30 sessions or even longer. Generally, 7-12 sessions are considered a cure. Between each cure, a break of 5 to 10 days is taken. The length of the cures is adjusted according to the course of the disease.
In some cases, a permanent needle (pin in the form of a fastener) can be applied to the ears for 5 to 15 days.

Subcutaneous needles, which we call intra-dermal needles, can be applied and left here for 1 week.
Laser therapy can also be applied to acupuncture points. (Especially in children, very old patients and those with needle phobia)
It can be applied to acupuncture points in electro-acupuncture (alternating current, low voltage and amperage to the points). Its frequency varies between 2 and 2000 Hz (electrical stimulation per second) depending on the condition of the disease. Electro-acupuncture was first applied as a pain reliever during tonsil surgery in China in 1958.
In addition, sono (sound) waves are also applied to acupuncture points, albeit a little.
Purpose; Whatever method is used, it is to stimulate the acupuncture point. In fact, we stimulate these points by massaging.
