Acupuncture is a Latin word.

It consists of the combination of the words acus (needle) and puncture (pierce), it means to pin.

The symbol of acupuncture is the ‘Great Dilemma’ called ‘TAIJYI’. It symbolizes ‘yin’ and ‘yang’. According to Chinese philosophy, yin and yang exist together in all beings in the universe. It tells about opposition to each other and represents balance.

In order to understand acupuncture, we need to talk about the energy called ‘dew’ and circulating in the meridians in the body. In the philosophy of acupuncture, blockages in the meridians disrupt the circulation of this raw energy and cause diseases. With acupuncture treatment, these blockages are removed.

The energy channels we call meridians are found in our body as 12 double and 2 single meridians, and we can also reach these channels through the ear. Because the ear is a small model of our body. We regulate energy by stimulating the acupuncture points on the meridians. Studies have shown that by stimulating these points, substances such as endorphins, enkephalin, and serotonin are secreted in our body, and these substances have pain-relieving and stress-relieving effects.

History of acupuncture Acupuncture is explained in detail in the book Huang Dy Ney Jyng, which was written 5,000 years ago in China during the Yellow Kingdom. In some publications and researches, it is said that it is based on the Uyghur Turks.

Today, it is widely used in France, Germany, America, institutes are opened, many researches and publications are made. It is becoming more and more common in our country, and its importance is understood.

It is remarkable that a 5,000-year-old treatment method is still valid today.
