When we say life conditions and increasing responsibilities, we can find ourselves trying to keep up with many tasks. Being able to fulfill our responsibilities is functional, an indicator of our health. It is good if we do not allow ourselves to give up, to make mistakes, to keep up with everything.
However, do we sometimes describe ourselves as workaholics? We feel compelled to catch up with something as if we are in a race, we have high expectations from ourselves such as “I should do, I should think, I have to train”, we try to fulfill our own responsibilities at a high level and we find ourselves running towards what others can do, and we are still not satisfied while living all these things. If there are times when we feel intense tension, we should know that the voices from our childhood accompany our day. Some of our family members may be people who have high expectations from us, give approval and greetings, are not satisfied, and act challenging about responsibilities. This is what we call the demanding parent voice. In fact, what we heard from them can now be summarized as our inner voice.
