Every year, thousands of people benefit from the health services provided by Gaziemir Municipality with its 32-person health team to help citizens become stronger physically, mentally and socially. In 2022, 13 thousand 857 patients benefited from the polyclinic services of the municipality, which meets the needs of citizens of all ages in this area with the free healthcare services. Blood tests were performed on 752 citizens in the municipality’s laboratory.
In addition to outpatient services, citizens are also served at their homes through projects such as Home Patient and Elderly Care, Welcome Baby, Psychological Support and Counseling Services, Dietitian Services, and Physical Therapy Services.
Welcome Baby Project
The Municipality provides special services to mothers and their babies as part of the Welcome Baby Project. Within the scope of the project, the health of mothers and babies visited during pregnancy and postpartum is monitored. The teams, which carry out health checks of the mother and baby during pregnancy, prepare the parents for the postpartum period. The teams, which regularly check the health of the mother and baby after the birth, also train first-time parents on baby care. In 2022, 704 visits were made and mothers and babies were served.
Home Patient and Elderly Care Project
With the project, which is extended to socially disadvantaged, elderly, bedridden, disabled and orphan citizens, the treatment and care of the patients are carried out in their homes. The health teams, who regularly visit the patients at home, serve to improve the health and social aspects of the patients. In addition to providing health services, the home care team ensures that the person and their relatives become aware of the disease and become educated. Serving 2,686 patients, the Home Care Team made 6,100 visits in 2022.
Healthy Nutrition and Diet Counseling Service
With the Healthy Nutrition and Diet Counseling Service provided in the Health Village, the wrong eating habits of citizens living in Gaziemir are determined, and measures are taken against health problems caused by inadequate and unbalanced nutrition. The dietitian, who treats the citizens who need support at their homes, together with the Home Care team, also provides consultancy services to those who want it at the center. As part of the dietitian service, special diet programs are prepared for the patients, and the patients are constantly followed up. 205 interviews were held in 2022 within the scope of the dietitian service, where trainings were also provided on healthy and economical nutrition methods.
Psychological Support and Counseling Service
Within the scope of the Psychological Support and Counseling Service provided at the Positive Living Center, citizens talk about their problems and receive psychological support. Within the scope of the service, psychological support is provided to adults and adolescents who come to the center and seek support. Within the scope of this service, 576 consultancy services were provided in 2022.
Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Service
This service of Gaziemir Municipality is given to the elderly who cannot go out of the house and to patients with limited mobility at their homes, and to other patients in a specially designed center. The physiotherapist, who implements a special program designed to increase the physical activities and mobility of citizens receiving Home Sick Elderly and Care Services, also makes exercise exercises for those who benefit from Ata Evi Healthy Aging Center. In 2022, patients were served 947 times within the scope of this service.
