Allergy is the body’s self-destructive reaction to a substance that enters or comes into contact with the body. If these reactions occur at a normal level, it is to protect the body. However, the reactions in allergic people are so high that they can be harmful.
Most things that cause allergies are not actually harmful and do not work on people who are not allergic. Allergic bodies are usually sensitive to more than one substance.
Allergy has a genetic predisposition and can start at any age.
2-3 minutes after the allergen enters the body, a substance called histamine is released. It reaches the maximum level in 15 minutes.
When the immune system encounters foreign substances, it learns to recognize and memorize them. Then it prepares its response by producing antibodies against foreign substances (antigens). Whenever the same antigen is seen in the organism, a previously prepared response begins due to its recall feature. For this reason, for example, when a person with hay fever encounters pollen every year, he reacts immediately due to this feature in the immune system.
There are many known or unknown factors that can cause allergies. The most common ones include dust, pollen, molds, some foods (milk, eggs, strawberries, etc.), chemicals, pets.
Allergy can cause runny nose, sneezing, itching, different reactions in the body, swelling and asthma. It should not be forgotten that allergies can cause sneezing and itching, which are clinically very harmless, as well as a picture called anaphylaxis that can cause the death of the patient in a short time.
ALLERGIC rhinitis
The organ most affected by allergic reactions is the nose. Any inflammation of the mucous membrane lining the nose is called rhinitis. If these inflammations are caused by allergic factors, it is called Allergic Rhinitis.
In the examination of patients with allergic rhinitis, a runny nose can be seen directly. In addition, pale color, increased transparent secretion, edema (swelling) and, if any, flesh growth in the nose are seen. When viewed through the mouth, nasal discharge and pharyngitis can be seen.
Allergy Treatment with Acupuncture:
The main purpose of acupuncture treatment in allergy is to regulate the body’s excessive reaction to allergens (dust, pollen, mites, foodstuffs, animal hair, etc.). In medical language, this is called modulation. The goal is for the body neither to over-react nor to remain unresponsive. In other words, it is the body’s normal response.
The patient who comes to our clinic undergoes a classical general examination before starting the treatment. The examinations and analyzes given by the allergy-chest specialist physicians that he went to before are examined. In addition, the energy levels of organs and systems are examined in terms of traditional Chinese Medicine. For this, pulse diagnosis, tongue diagnosis, body and ear acupuncture points diagnosis are added to the examination. After learning the drugs used by the patient, the style of the acupuncture application is determined.
For example, in ear acupuncture, there are acupuncture points with drug effect. To mention a few points in ear acupuncture, ASTH (the hormone produced by the brain that stimulates the adrenal gland to secrete cortisone) is the adrenal gland point, the antihistamine (the opposite of histamine) point. These points are scanned with a detector in the ear, it is determined whether treatment is required for that point, and if necessary, what type of needle (silver or gold) will be used. The application is made by adding body points that complete these points.
Complaints begin to decrease in an average of 3 sessions, and treatment is terminated after 8 to 15 sessions. The duration of the treatment is determined as a result of the examination.
When deemed necessary; Additional elements such as magnetic field therapy, phytotherapy, breathing exercises, movement therapy, massage therapy, and personalized purification programs for the body and mind are also added to the acupuncture treatment.
