by clinic

Tremor in the hands, legs and various parts of the body is called ‘tremor’ in medicine. The hand tremor that we associate with Parkinson’s disease is not usually an indication of a serious condition and will go away on its own without the need for any treatment. However, it can also be a sign of an important disease. So what causes hand tremors? How does the shaking go? Details are in our news…

What causes tremor disease?

Shivering is considered normal in some cases. Being under too much tension, worry, or anxiety can lead to tremors. When the emotional intensity decreases, the tremor usually stops. Tremor can also be a segment of medical disorders that affect the brain, border system, or muscles. For this reason, if you develop unexplained tremors, you should definitely contact a health institution. In the middle of the most common causes of tremors are:

Muscle fatigue
Too much caffeine consumption,
Stress,
Aging,
Low blood sugar levels.

Factors underlying tremors in the hands

Essential Tremor: Essential tremor is the most common type of movement disorder. Briefly, it can be defined as tremor disease of unknown cause. It is most commonly seen in the hands and head and neck region.

Parkinson’s Tremor: Parkinson’s tremor occurs at rest. It is often the first symptom of Parkinson’s and disappears with movement. It starts in a limb or one side of the body and then progresses to the other side.

Cerebellar Tremor (Related to the Cerebellum): The cerebellum, that is, the cerebellum, is the part of the hindbrain that controls movement and balance. Cerebellar tremor is a type of tremor that occurs due to damage to the cerebellum.

Physiological Tremor: Physiological tremor is usually caused by medical conditions such as certain medications, alcohol withdrawal, hypoglycemia (low blood sugar), or an overactive thyroid. Physiological tremor is likely to disappear if the underlying cause is treated.

Psychogenic Tremor: It is a type of tremor that occurs due to psychological reasons. When the person’s attention is distracted, the tremors largely disappear. These individuals often have a psychiatric illness.

How is tremor disease passed?

Avoid caffeine and other stimulants: Caffeine and other stimulants can increase tremors.

Avoiding tension: Tension and anxiety tend to make tremors worse, and relaxation can make tremors better. Although not all tensions in life can be removed, it is possible to learn to cope with stressful situations by using various relaxation techniques such as massage, yoga and meditation.

Lifestyle changes: For example, using the hand with less tremor more frequently may help.
