In the early nineteenth century, a French neurologist, Dr. Nogier; He found healed burn marks on the auricle of his patients who came with headache complaints. In his interviews with the patients, he learned that these burn scars were created by healers who were accepted as Folk Physicians in the society due to pain. Afterwards, thanks to his scientific studies for many years; He systematized and mapped the existence of about 200 regions on the surface of the auricle representing the whole body. Dr. Thanks to the ear acupuncture method developed by Nogier, acupuncture treatment began to attract the attention of Modern Medicine. After the said date, the acupuncture approach; In fact, it started to integrate with the modern medicine approach, which it was not familiar with. Parallel to these developments, the physicians who turned to my field of acupuncture practice; They started to blend disease diagnosis methods with modern medical practices by using technological opportunities.
As a result of scientific studies, it has been determined that 65-70% of acupuncture points are trigger points, and most of them are the same as the motor points of the muscles. Histological examinations show that acupuncture points are rich in nerve, blood and lymph channels.
Acupuncture is applied to the skin and subcutaneous muscle tissue. Skin and subcutaneous muscle tissue are affected by all kinds of stimuli during the application. The needle inserted into the acupuncture point causes a local feeling of tension, pressure, warming and pain in the skin.
As a result of scientific experiments, it has been shown that neurological, endocrine and immunological systems are affected by acupuncture application. During the application, the pain control system is activated and analgesic effects occur. In the processes following the application, hormonal and immunological systems come into play. It initiates the healing process of diseases in hormonal and immunological effects.
