Does rhythm disorder cause dementia?

by clinic

Prolonged continuation of heart arrhythmia, known as atrial fibrillation, increases the risk of dementia, including Alzheimer’s
disease.
There is a linear relationship between permanent rhythm disorders such as atrial fibrillation that occurs especially in advanced ages and dementia
.
In other words, dementia is seen more frequently in individuals with atrial fibrillation. However, this was more common in untreated
patients.
When blood thinners (especially new generation blood thinners) are used appropriately, this risk
is very low.
