Circumcision without giving sedatives…
As a general approach, sedatives (sedation) are used in some clinics and many hospitals to keep the baby comfortable during circumcision. Although good results can be obtained by taking the necessary precautions in selected cases, in many cases where sedatives are given, agitation rather than calmness can be seen for various reasons. Again, in many cases where sedatives are given, after the procedure, the baby is disconnected from its mother and there is uneasiness that manifests itself with symptoms such as not being able to breastfeed for about 2 hours and not being able to fall asleep.
Except in special circumstances, we do not give sedatives to babies during circumcision under local anesthesia.
Use of numbing cream…
When babies come to our clinic on circumcision day, we first perform local anesthesia with an injection. It is useful to apply suitable local anesthetics in the form of cream in order not to feel pain during the injection. Again, we use pre-injection spray pain relievers.
Following the administration of local anesthesia, babies stay in their mother’s arms for at least 10 minutes. This waiting period is important for the full effect of local anesthesia and for babies to calm down and get used to the environment.

Many methods with or without stitches can be used in circumcision. We evaluate the circumcision technique, the baby’s age and the condition of the penis, and explain the details of the method to the family at the meeting.

The presence of the parents with the baby relaxes both the parents and the baby. Babies are happier during circumcision in an environment designed according to the age of the baby and completed according to his age and needs.
Babies are generally restless in a crowded environment. For this reason, other family members who come for circumcision can follow the circumcision room on the monitor while sipping their tea in the other hall.
