When Should Infertility Examinations and/or Treatment Be Started?
Infertility is the inability of the couple to achieve pregnancy despite one year of unprotected regular intercourse. Infertility investigations should include both the man and the woman. In cases where the female age is less than 35, 12 months should be waited for infertility examinations. If the age of the woman is between 35-38, it is enough to wait 6 months to start infertility examinations. In women older than 38 years, it is important not to start the examinations immediately, in order not to waste time.
Regardless of age, if a woman has menstrual irregularity, ovulation problems, a history of tube surgery, or a man has a history of operation on his testicles, the examinations should be started immediately.
