İzmir Katip Çelebi University (İKÇÜ) Karşıyaka Education Family Health Center (ASM) service building no. 26 was put into service with an official ceremony attended by İzmir Governor Yavuz Selim Köşger.
Opening of the service building, the construction of which was undertaken by the businessman Niyazi Memur, and transferred to the Health Application and Research Center (İKÇÜ SUAM) by the TR Ministry of Health as the Education Family Health Center; Karşıyaka District Governor Özkan Demir, Rector Prof. Dr. Saffet Köse, İzmir Provincial Mufti Salih Sezik, İzmir Provincial Health Director Assoc. Dr. Emre Erkuş, former İzmir deputy Taha Aksoy, Karşıyaka District Health Director Cenk Benli, Independent Industrialists’ and Businessmen’s Association (MUSIAD) İzmir President Bilal Saygılı, Karşıyaka Combat Veterans Association President Halil Taşçı, representatives of political parties and academic and administrative staff from İKÇÜ.
Our country is at the top of the World League in Health
In his speech at the opening, İzmir Governor Yavuz Selim Köşger drew attention to the successful point reached in health in recent years and stated that Turkey ranks high in the world in the field of health. Governor Köşger said, “Turkey has accomplished great things in recent years with a citizen-oriented approach. We are implementing the best examples in the world in healthcare and are in an enviable position compared to other countries. Our health center that we opened today is on a campus and there is a mosque construction right behind us. With the opening of this service here, a very accurate job has been signed. Man is a two-dimensional being with body and soul. Our citizens will find health in the mosque and spiritually in the ASM we opened physically. I would like to thank Mr. Niyazi Memur and his family for bringing this building to our fellow citizens in Mavişehir. In addition, Rector Prof. Dr. I would like to express my gratitude to Köse, our Provincial Health Director, and all our employees who worked hard.”

Speaking at the opening of the ceremony, Rector Prof. Dr. Köse said that since the day İKÇÜ was founded, their policy has been to sign projects that contribute to the city. Rector Köse said, “We are implementing projects that bring the university and the public together at the service of our nation, and today we are adding a new one to these. We are opening the fourth of İKÇÜ FHCs in Karşıyaka region. By increasing the number of these centers, we will continue to be intertwined with our citizens on the health denominator. I would like to thank our Governor, Provincial Health Directorate, Mr. Niyazi Officer, who undertook the construction of this center, and his family, all our teachers and everyone who contributed.”
Best Health Care with Our 1381 Family Physicians in 375 ASMs
İzmir Provincial Health Director Assoc. Dr. Emre Erkuş said that they share the happiness of bringing a new health facility to İzmir. Assoc. Dr. Emre Erkuş said, “We continue to provide the best health service to our citizens with our FHCs, hospitals, healthy life centers and district directorates affiliated to our Ministry. We serve our citizens in 375 FHCs and 1381 family physicians in İzmir. Today, we are opening Karşıyaka ASM, the fourth of our protocols with İKÇÜ. We will continue to work in cooperation with all the stakeholders of the city and all our universities.”
After the opening speeches, the members of the protocol, the philanthropic businessman Niyazi Memur and his family members opened the İKÇÜ Karşıyaka Education Family Health Center no. Governor Köşger and the accompanying delegation toured the center and met with İKÇÜSUAM Director Assoc. Dr. Esra received information about the center from Meltem Koç and conveyed her best wishes to the healthcare professionals.
