How is a spinal cord tumor treated?

by clinic

In fact, spinal cord tumor is not cancer. In other words, the tumor in the spinal cord does not spread to another organ like cancers or grow very quickly. These are actually benign tumors. However, compression of the spinal cord in a small closed bone box has very serious consequences.

Since the nerves going from the spinal cord to our arms and legs pass, paralysis may occur, the muscles of the person’s arms and legs may be stiffened, contracted, and movements may be restricted, and worse, the patient may be unable to hold back his urine and stool.

These tumors require immediate surgery when diagnosed. There is no chance of giving them radiation therapy or drug therapy, that is, chemotherapy. After the paralysis occurs over time, the paralysis cannot be reversed, even with surgery.
