What is Infertility?
The inability to become pregnant despite the fact that couples have regular sexual intercourse for a year and do not use any birth control method is called infertility. Although there is no serious statistical study on infertility in our country, it is estimated that there is a 10-15% problem of infertility.
Conditions for Conceiving
• No problem of erection of the penis
• Enough sperm can be produced and poured into the uterus
• A healthy ovulation (ovulation) in the woman and the egg reaching the tubes in a healthy way
• Sperm reach the tubes in a healthy way and fertilize the egg
• After fertilization, the egg can attach to the uterus and continue its development here
When all these conditions are fulfilled, a healthy pregnancy is in question. As it is thought in our society, the reason for infertility is only women. About 10-20% of the couples have ovulation problems, while 15% have problems with the uterus or tubes. About 40% of the couples have problems with both men and women. Apart from these, no cause can be found in 15% of couples. .
DIAGNOSIS OF INfertility
For the diagnosis of infertility, some tests should be done. Sperm analysis called “spermogram” for men and uterine-tube films called “Hystero-salpingography” for women should be taken.
It is also necessary to perform hormonal tests in both men and women, and laparoscopy is also performed in some special cases.
TREATMENT WITH ACUPUNCTURE
Scientific publications about the effectiveness of acupuncture in the treatment of infertility are increasing day by day. It has been found that acupuncture, when applied in addition to traditional medical treatments, increases the chance of getting pregnant by 50%. This is a very high rate.
In the treatment of infertility with acupuncture, application between 15-20 sessions is required. With acupuncture treatment:
