Managing the future; neurotherapy

Those who do not travel slowly

Those who do not read, those who do not listen to music,

Those who do not have tolerance in their conscience

They die slowly…

Those who are slaves to their habits, those who walk the same road every day,

Those who do not broaden and change their horizons,

Those who do not even risk changing the color of their clothes,

Or those who do not talk to a stranger

They die slowly…

Those who run away from passions and excitements,

Those who avoid wanting to see the twinkle in the eyes of repaired broken hearts

They die slowly…

Those who are unhappy in love or work and do not change direction,

Those who do not take risks to realize their dreams,

Reasonable advice even once in their life Those who do not go outside

die slowly…

“Homeostosis” is the natural state of our body under normal conditions (imagine a shiny new car…) A healthy person she’s probably in a state of homeostosis when she’s sitting in a cafe thinking about her boyfriend. His heart is in a normal rhythm, his blood pressure and respiration are normal. This gentleman, who is a little lecherous, begins to cut the girl at the next table, while the expected lover enters and the color changes. A serious quarrel ensues. The child’s heart rate and breathing increase. The blood rises to the head, the skin becomes red, sweating, the mouth is dry. Because the body is currently in the protection reflex, namely “Allostosis”.

The girl walks out, ours pulls a “pufff!” and still returns to normal/homeostosis. Our brain controls these two basic mechanisms through the ‘HYPOTHHALAMUS’ way.

The total region above is called MIDDLE BRAIN with its general definition. Here;

⦁ Thalamus: It is the dynamo and gateway of the brain. Low electricity is produced here, all the information coming to the body is sent to the brain from here

⦁ Hypothalamus: It brings together the orders from all brain structures through hormonal (chemical) and neural (electrical) ways and creates Homeostosis and Allostosis.

⦁ Pituitary: It is the commander of the hypothalamus.

⦁ Amygdala : Emotional memory store.

⦁ Hippocampus: It is a long-term memory store.

⦁ Basal Ganglion: Features such as body movements, being alert, learning, emotional expression are also helpful.

⦁ Limbic System: It is the general name of the 6 sections above. It is the main factor of the so-called unconscious state.

The brainstem observed below is the primitive brain part. It is the origin/management center of our basic features such as breathing and heart rate, which are obligatory before intelligence/mind develops.

HPA Hypothalamus, pituitary (pituitary) and Adrenal (adrenal gland) are generally the normal functioning of the brain in the Homeostotic state of the body or Allostosis; It is the basic way to enter protection mode. You can think of allostosis as the brain’s brake or fuse system. The hypothalamus is the brain’s mechanic. When the car starts to misfire (sugar, blood pressure, cholesterol, thyroid hormone levels are decreased or increased), it is directly activated. The mechanic does the repair in two ways, electrical and chemical. The chemical pathway takes the form of controlling the level of hormones through the pituitary.

In a (distorted) structure in allostosis, hormones (cortisol, norepinephrine, CRH) anterior brain region + hippocampus INHIBE (stopping), amygdala exits (stimulation) (Excessive growth in disorders such as depression, anxiety, autism) The frontal region of the brain, the hippocampus, whose stimulated amygdala effect is restricted ).

Secreted by Pituitary;

Vasopressin: If it decreases, frequent urination over a certain age

FSH-LH: Menstrual irregularity in women

Testosterone: sperm production in men, relaxation of the cardiovascular system

Estrogen : Ovarian study in women

Prolactin: milk production in women, reduction of stress

Thyroid: energy production and transport, fat-sugar metabolism ( TSH and TRH levels are low in depression and bipolar disorder.)

In the production of most of these hormones (including cortisone, progesterone) secreted by the pituitary, CHOLESTEROL is the basic structural molecule.

The body produces a significant part of cholesterol, very little of it is taken with food. Cholesterol is also an antioxidant. It is necessary for the use of vitamins (A, P, E and the production of vitamin D. High cholesterol is effective in brain, vascular and heart diseases. (However, the cholesterol diets that do not contain oil and eggs in recent times are absolutely wrong; According to old information, fats turn into cholesterol in the body. It clogs the vessels, causes heart disease and stroke Red meat increases blood pressure, causes cancer It has led to positive results in Alzheimer’s patients.)

The brain’s self-structuring method: PLASTICITY

Plasticity means an increase in the number of connections between cells. It is also an excellent self-protection recovery strategy/method since there is no ron production.

If we examine the triangle above in terms of diseases;

Trauma/extreme stress AIM + (increased)

Depression Amygdala + AIM and Hippocampus – (Decreased)

Menopausal ILD +

OCD ILD + ( Particularly anterior cingulate ginus)

Suicide AKI + (Especially anterior cingulate ginus)

Schizophrenia ALD +

The effects of drugs are mostly via the LIMBIC system. When drugs are used briefly, they try to take over the task of the anterior region of the brain. However, they cannot increase the plasticity of the brain. Plasticity occurs with an increase in intercellular (dendrite).

Let’s take a break with a short poem if the Latin and scientific jargon are bothering you. With the poem written by Serhat DİLSIZ, who is classified as schizophrenic, in prison and in Manisa Mental Mental Health Hospital;

Unknown, which dream reminds tomorrow

Who tripped your life

The trace of leather chains on your wrist

A memory from a sponge covered cell

Red sitting on top the eyed hyena

Twelve microwave lips

Dripping saliva into my mouth

Through the bars inside me

A pharmacy trying to take the knowledge out of me

Collective murders in my mind

It’s a punishment given to me from the unknown …

I’m high in my brain

Fifty-six in Volta

Six with a broken head

Three mistress of the cell

One serhat one unknown two in a walking body

pharmacist passing through the veins one thousand micro grams

Some messenger some lipstick stained

Half burned half remaining

Dozens of tracks I’m spitting a rite

There’s more tomorrow in every breath

One cigarette… half a cigarette… the last cigarette…

Your chance to review neurotherapy used in the therapy of the devil’s triangle (!) above, in our other articles there is.

Right now, it would be good to tell you about a couple of very new treatment/therapy methods.

⦁ Look for the absolute amount of magnesium to be equal to calcium in the water you drink. (although it is very difficult to find it in many sold waters!)

⦁ Q 10 (Coenzyme 10) meets cellular energy needs.

L-cartin is involved in ATP activity with keratin, carnosine, magnesium and calcium. It is antioxidant, strengthens the heart, is useful in Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s. Diabetes is effective in stress.

⦁ Lipoic Acid: Diabetics, cancer-stopping structure is available.

⦁ EDTA: It is administered intravenously. It is effective in all heavy metals. It cleans the calcium that causes atherosclerosis. Hypertension, claudication (walking pain due to leg vein occlusion) are effective.

In general, our intelligence can do nothing (for better or worse) as long as our emotions rule us. Passions overwhelm logic.

So in general we have two minds: one thinks and the other feels (our heart and our brain’s mind).

Our emotional brain developed long before our rational brain. The most important and ancient root of our emotional life is the sense of smell. The olfactory lobe center also consists of 2 different neuron layers:

⦁ Is the smell that is taken as the center eaten? Is it sexually appropriate? Come closer, is texture the enemy? Gives run or chase messages.

The basic layers of the emotional brain are in the limbic system (limbus means ring in Latin). As the limbic system developed, it developed 2 skills: learning and remembering. This set us apart from all other living things. Like other creatures, making smart/intelligent choices, invariable automatic response, had now been replaced by fine-tuned responses that matched the reaction of the environment. He had fine-tuned responses to match the reaction of an environment. If a food kills, avoid it, don’t choose a stinky mate…

The later developing neocortex took things further. The amygdala (Latin for almond) is the main repository of emotional memory (together with the cingulate gyrus). Normally, all sense organs (eye, ear, skin…) send signals to the thalamus, these are sent to the neocortex, where they combine and the necessary response is given.

However, apart from this main main road to/from the limbic system, there is another short and fast road; a small bundle of neurons goes directly from the thalamus to the amygdala. This pathway allows a quick response from the amygdala before the response of the cortex is prepared. While the neocortex produces a slow but well-tuned response, the amygdala prompts us to act on this shortcut (i.e., some emotional responses can occur without any conscious contribution). This response is ultimately careless, meaning to act before the event is certain. He gives us crazy instructions. The amygdala does this based on the information cortex in the past (we see someone and their face reminds us of our uncle; the information processing in the hippocampus provided this. But for some reason we don’t like the man because we don’t like our uncle at all, which is produced by the amygdala.

In experiments in mice, this expression is The fast path is thought to be 24 ms in humans, which has been determined to be 12 ms (millisecond = 12 thousandths of a second). The path from the thalamus to the neocortex is 4 times faster

The prefrontal lobes act as a buffer against the sudden movements of the amygdala.

Right prefrontal lobes are the center of all negative emotions such as fear, anger, etc. The left lobe controls these emotions by suppressing the right lobe

For this reason, in people with damaged prefrontal lobe amygdala circuit, there is a decrease in intelligence or cognitive abilities. there is no deterioration, but since access to emotional knowledge is insufficient, it is not possible to reach emotional lessons from the past. these people have difficulty making emotional choices.

In short, our intuition and feelings are important. Dry logic comes into play after that. Our emotions are necessary for us to be rational.

In fact, the fact that drugs used in the treatment of epilepsy (Zyprexa, Seroquel, Risperdol, etc.) trigger a schizophrenic seizure is somewhat based on this. Because these drugs increase the secretion of dopamine, and dopamine increases the seizure of schizophrenia.

An epileptic seizure creates a very serious warning to the body. Our body is in danger of life. In the face of these, neurochemical stimuli (neurotransmitters; epinephrine, norepinephrine, dopamine, etc.) quickly send the message of resistance to the amygdala. We have described the express response of the amygdala above. Unfortunately, in epilepsy patients, the switch, that is, the movement of the prefrontal lobes, is stopped. For this reason, strengthening the frontal lobe must be prioritized in neurotherapy sessions in such patients.
