What are the symptoms of neck flattening?
1) Neck pain. This pain sometimes radiates to the back of the head and shoulders.
2) When the neck is flattened, some vessels going to the brain are stretched and not enough blood can go to the brain, headache, dizziness, nausea, forgetfulness, imbalance in the later stages, sleep disorders may also occur.
If neck straightening is not treated, it may cause neurological problems in the future. Since the shape of the spine will deteriorate further, sometimes pain occurs in the right or left arm, and sometimes in both arms, as a result of pressure on the nerves coming out from between the vertebrae. Later on, neck hernia may develop.
How is neck flattening treated?
In the treatment, first of all, it is necessary to avoid the applications that cause this situation.
– Persons sitting at desks; Make sure to try to sit upright.
– People who work by sitting for a long time should definitely do neck exercises while sitting.
– The top edge of the computer monitor should be at the level of your eyebrow; so you don’t strain your neck muscles to lean forward or look up.
– You shouldn’t spend a lot of time with mobile devices.
– It is necessary to use an orthopedic pillow.
Muscle relaxant tablets and creams are helpful in treatment. Neck exercises should be done with these drugs. If improvement is not achieved with these, physical therapy should be applied.
