They are lumps formed by combining one or more of minerals or organic substances, mostly calcium. They are formed in the kidney and are excreted through the urethra. If they are not excreted, they cause a blockage in the urinary system.
What is the reason?
Familial predisposition, geographical feature (Hard Waters, Hot Climate), diet, low fluid intake, structural disorder in the urinary system have an important place.
Severe flank pain on the lowered side, nausea and vomiting, increased urinary frequency and sometimes bloody urine.
How is the diagnosis made?
Ultrasonography is performed after the pediatric surgeon examination. Diagnosis is confirmed by urinalysis and x-ray.
