The effect of transarterial radioembolization therapy on survival in intrahepatic cholangiocellular carcinomas.
by clinicby clinicObjective: The aim of this study is to present the survival results of patients with intrahepatic cholangiocellular carcinoma who were treated with transarterial radioembolization and who were not amenable to surgical treatment. Materials and Methods: 28 patients who were diagnosed with intrahepatic cholangiocellular carcinoma and were not suitable for surgical treatment were included in this study. All patients were treated with transarterial radioembolization method. The survival times of the patients whose follow-up started after the diagnosis was made were recorded. Kaplan-Meier survival analysis was used to calculate survival times. Results: A total of 28 patients were evaluated in the study. The average age is 60.46 years, with a minimum age of 36 years and a maximum age of 84 years. The median follow-up period of the patients was calculated as 14 months (min:3– max:33). The median survival time of the patients is 22 (min: 3 months, max: 33 months) months. In addition, patients who received chemotherapy and patients who did not, patients with solitary tumors and patients with multifocal tumors may have unilobar tumors.
