Selma-Huseyin Tok couple living in Gümüşhane had a heart attack 2 weeks apart. The Tok couple, who were treated at Medical Park Karadeniz Hospital, regained their health with successful bypass operations.
Selma Tok, 56, living in Kelkit district of Gümüşhane, applied to Medical Park Karadeniz Hospital with the complaint of stomach pain. In the examinations, it was revealed that Selma Tok had a heart attack. The patient was discharged after 5 days after a 4-vessel coronary bypass surgery. Two weeks after the incident, Selma Tok’s 60-year-old wife, Hüseyin Tok, was also treated for a heart attack. Tok first applied to the emergency service of a hospital in Erzincan, and when he learned that he had also had a heart attack, he demanded to be transferred to the hospital where his wife was being treated. The patient, who was transferred to the Medical Park Karadeniz Hospital, held on to life with the bypass operation, just like his wife.

Explaining the treatment process they applied to the Gümüşhane couple, Medical Park Karadeniz Hospital Cardiovascular Surgery Specialist Dr. Instructor Member Tuncay Erden said, “After Mrs. Selma applied to our hospital with the complaint of stomach pain, she was diagnosed with a heart attack (myocardial infection). As a result of coronary angiography, occlusion and severe stenosis in coronary vessels were detected, and emergency coronary bypass surgery was decided. We performed 4-vessel coronary bypass surgery and discharged our patient 5 days later in good health. Two weeks after the incident, our patient’s wife, Hüseyin Bey, applied to a hospital in Erzincan with similar complaints. When she was diagnosed with a heart attack, she was referred to us voluntarily,” she said.
