Vaccine appointment time controversy

by clinic

The Ministry of Health has reduced the Central Physician Appointment System (MHRS), which is normally opened every 10 minutes for the coronavirus vaccine, to 1 in 5 minutes for the afternoon. In this context, 1 person will be vaccinated every 10 minutes before noon and 1 person every 5 minutes in the afternoon.

Stating that the practice valid for the afternoon will cause crowds in family health centers, the 2nd President of the Federation of Family Physicians Associations, Hacı Yusuf Eryazğan, said, “One in 5 minutes means 12 appointments to a physician for every hour in the afternoon. 48 appointments for each unit for approximately 4 hours. If there are 5 family physicians, it means 240 people in total. Having 240 people vaccinated in a family health center means that 50 percent of them return without being vaccinated due to both the limited vaccination areas and the very slow and sluggish work of the VACCINE program. This practice is incompatible with the field. and it has no applicability,” he said.

The duration of the appointments made over the Central Physician Appointment System (MHRS) in the coronavirus vaccination created controversy. In this context, while an appointment was made every 10 minutes before noon, the reduction of this time to 1 in 5 minutes for the afternoons caused controversy. Hacı Yusuf Eryazğan, the 2nd President of the Federation of Family Physicians Associations, reacted to the practice that was implemented in hospitals at the weekend, and today it was implemented in family health centers. Stating that the application will cause chaos in family health centers, Eryazğan said, “The Ministry of Health has reduced the Central Physician Appointment System (MHRS), which is normally opened every 10 minutes, to 1 in 5 minutes. 1 in 5 minutes means 12 per hour for a physician in the afternoon. It means an appointment. It means 48 appointments to each doctor for approximately 4 hours. If there are 5 family physicians in the family health center, it means 240 people in total. 240 people are vaccinated in a family health center, due to the limited vaccination areas and the very slow and erratic work of the vaccination program. Therefore, it means that 50 percent of them return without being vaccinated,” he said.

“Not applicable”

Noting that there were problems in the AŞILA application developed for the vaccine last Friday, Eryazğan said in summary: “The vaccination program was blocked on Friday. It also removes the warning to wait for 15 minutes. When there is an allergic reaction in people, health workers and physicians will be held responsible. It is not correct to reduce the appointment system to 5 minutes without asking the physicians in the field. As AHEF, we say again that vaccination centers should be established so that vaccination can be done so quickly. The family medicine information system must be activated and vaccinations must be made through this system… It is imperative that people be informed about how to make an appointment with public service ads and how to get consent… In a family health center where 48 appointments are given to a family doctor within 4 hours, other polyclinic services continue. While the vaccine is added, it is not possible for those who have been vaccinated to wait in narrow spaces in the corridor. This application is incompatible with the field and is not applicable.”
