What are the causes of early menstruation?

by clinic

Premature menstruation points out many problematic situations for women. It is imperative that menstrual irregularities are taken seriously and the underlying cause is found. Diabetes is one of the causes of early menstruation. Here are the reasons for early menstruation!

Normal period between 21-35 days

Menstrual bleeding is considered normal between 21 and 35 days under normal conditions. This period, which differs for each woman, should take place within 21 days at the earliest and 35 days at the latest. Otherwise, it is considered unsystematic. Premature menstruation is accepted for cases where menstrual bleeding recurs before 21 days.

Physiological causes

The tension we experience in daily life, weight gains, changes in nutrition style, heavy training, climate and environmental changes, presence of chronic diseases, some drugs (especially antidepressants, hormonal drugs, blood slimming drugs, anti-inflammatory drugs), the use of herbal products affects menstrual irregularities.

Hormonal causes

In order to have regular menstruation, many hormones in the body must be in a healthy stability. Menstruation occurs primarily under the influence of estrogen and progesterone. Anovulation is the most common cause of menstrual irregularity. In these cases, where ovulation does not occur, progesterone deficiency develops, which leads to increased estrogen dominance and bleeding.

Polycystic ovary syndrome

It is the most common cause of menstrual irregularities. In this disorder, early menstrual irregularities, difficulty in getting pregnant, hair growth, acne problems are experienced; In the long term, the risk of uterine cancer increases due to diabetes (diabetes that does not require insulin), weight-related blood pressure, cholesterol-related heart diseases and thickening of the uterine wall.

Thyroid diseases

The menstrual cycle is adversely affected in cases of insufficient secretion of thyroid hormones (hypothyroidism) and in cases of excessive secretion (hyperthyroidism). Prolactin hormone is also released from the pituitary and affects the menstrual system. The increase in prolactin level is seen in the presence of adenoma in the pituitary gland, in which case both the menstrual size and the amount of bleeding decrease.

Diabetes

Both the causes of diabetes and the complications of diabetes cause menstrual irregularity. One of them is the weight issue. Especially in women, weight and menstrual irregularity are directly linked. The more weight a young woman has, the higher the probability of menstrual irregularity.
