Sunburn is the occurrence of redness, itching, sores and sometimes blisters caused by your body being exposed to UV (ultraviolet) rays emitted from the sun.

Wrinkles, sagging and brown sunspots on the skin can occur at an early age.

What to do when sunburn?

The important thing is to keep the skin soft and reduce tension and pain. It is wrong to apply substances such as yoghurt and toothpaste to the burned areas after sunburns. In cases where sunburn occurs, the first thing to do is to apply a cold shower and compress the burned areas with towels soaked in cold water. Applying a moisturizing lotion can be soothing by reducing tension. The use of Vaseline and similar oily pomades increases the effects of the burn and delays the healing, as they prevent the skin from breathing. Protection

Stating that it is necessary to be protected from the sun consciously in all periods of life, especially in childhood, Dr. ASLAN said, “It is necessary to stay away from the sun’s rays as much as possible, especially between 11:00 in the morning and 15.00 in the afternoon. Clothing should be preferred. Places that are very exposed to the sun should be protected by using a wide-brimmed hat. In summer, products with a protection factor of at least 15 should be used, while people with fair skin should pay attention to this factor of 30 or more. Sunscreen half an hour before going out in the sun It should be applied and repeated every 3-4 hours. Children under the age of 3 should definitely not be left in the sun. When sunburn occurs, plenty of fluids should be taken. In severe burns, a health institution should be consulted as soon as possible.
