When to perform mediastinoscopy: The most common application is the preoperative staging of Lung Cancer. If cancer cells are seen in the lymph node biopsy taken from here, surgery is not recommended to the patient, he is directed to other treatment methods. It is often used for the diagnosis of lymph nodes and masses located in the mediastinum. Is there a risk? It does not carry great risks when it is performed in experienced hands, but it is possible to encounter some problems in the operation performed on the vital area, which is rich in blood vessels.
