WHY TRAINING COACH?
As humans, we are in a constant race in our developing and ever-changing world. Thanks to the Internet, everyone can now easily access any information. I mean, knowledge has no value anymore. “What does it matter”, “Does it ever happen?” you can say. So let me explain: I will tell you how much two times two is? If I ask, the answers will be very loud. What if I had you do the refraction of light experiment and asked you questions about the mathematical operations that should be done according to the results you obtained? We’d stop and think, wouldn’t we? In today’s world, it has become more important to process and interpret information rather than knowing it. And unfortunately, many students have problems at this point. His motivation is falling and he is swirling in a vortex of failure. Not only academic success but also inner restlessness, irritability, depression, family conflict, alienation from family, development of school phobia etc. At this point, if the student is helped professionally, these problems can be overcome and a solution can be reached.
While educational coaching reveals the potential of the student, it also aims to help him find realistic goals. He does this by asking the students what we call great questions, as in Socrates’ method of giving birth, and he pulls the knowledge out of the student’s mind, giving birth to knowledge. One of the most important goals here is to set realistic, achievable, specific and measurable goals.
An education coach recognizes that every student is unique. And he argues that intelligence is not linear but versatile. The most important theorist in this field is H. Gardner. Gardner accepts that intelligence is multifaceted and divides intelligence into eight areas. (Verbal intelligence, mathematical intelligence, natural intelligence, Rhythmic intelligence, intrapersonal intelligence, spatial intelligence, social intelligence, kinesthetic intelligence). and does not look linear at the student. So in order for us to eat at a table, all the legs of that table must be solid, right? In the same way, for a student to be truly successful, family, school and teacher must progress in cooperation. In fact, when there are situations that exceed the professional limit of the training coach – that is, if the student has diagnosed or undiagnosed panic attacks, depression, hyperactivity and anxiety disorders, etc. – psychologists and psychiatrists may need to accompany this cooperation.
As a result, why we say training coach:
Because it reveals potential.
Because it increases motivation and reinforces motivation.
Because it allows to approach problems from a different perspective.
Because it teaches students to learn.
Because it prepares the student for life.
