Different medical systems have been put forward in different parts of the world throughout history. Today, although contemporary Western medicine seems to be the system that is effective all over the world to a large extent, scientific authorities mention that there may be different alternatives for treatment. In addition to traditional Chinese medicine and similar complex medical systems, which have very ancient origins, simpler medical systems found in tribes continue their existence today, together with Western medicine. Acupuncture, one of the main elements of Traditional Chinese Medicine, is a therapeutic art dating back 5000 years. It is the science of health, which was discovered by the Uyghur Turks in the closed Chinese society, and which was later developed by many scientists, including Avicenna. Aku: Needle, Punk: It means to pierce, which means that the treatment method of acupuncture is realized with needles applied to certain points of the body.
Medical Science, which is widely used and accepted all over the world today, is known as “Western Medicine”; He listens to the discomforts of the person with his own methods, makes observations, examines with his own examination methods, makes tests using the possibilities of technology, makes a diagnosis and applies the accepted treatment for the disease he is considering.
This process is also valid for the other science called “Oriental Medicine” and whose main basis is Acupuncture. We see the same process in acupuncture treatment.
So what are the differences between these two different medical sciences?
I must say that the biggest difference today is specialization. Namely; In Western Medicine, while evaluating people, people are divided into parts according to their age, gender and body parts. Almost every day, new specialties and new “divisions” continue. We are on the path of a division that will lead to right eye specialization and left eye specialization in the near future. Whereas, Acupuncture is not segmented. He sees man as a whole with his soul, body, and all organs and systems. It tries to ensure that all these systems work harmoniously in DENGE. At this point, it aims to correct the inconsistencies and imbalances it detects.
EASTERN MEDICINE : Medicine is Art – Based on thousands of years of observations – Medicine is Holistic – Circular Logical Energetic. NO SIDE EFFECTS.
WEST MEDICINE: Medicine is Technology Statistical studies, uses methods – Case-based – Divided into systems and organs Linear Logic Mechanic. Every drug has a harmful side effect on the body. Dozens of different features can be added to this table.
Philosophy of Acupuncture
When the egg and sperm come together in the womb, they resemble a drop of liquid like a tear. What do you think is in this liquid?
Our legs, our arms, our mouth, our eyes, our hormones, our soul, our basic psychology… Yes, they all begin to mature in this fluid, they turn into cells, organs and systems, and we are born as a baby, All mixed together, I mean. All our structures, which stand as a whole, decompose and take the shapes we know. So we shouldn’t be surprised why a needle pricked in your foot can be good for your headache.
Acupuncture Mechanism of Action; Our bodies are knitted with nets.
Vascular network, Lymph network, Neural network, these are the networks we know, another network that we have just learned and now accepted by western medicine is our Energy Network. Just as other networks exist without interfering with each other, our Energy network is a different network from other networks and they do not interfere with others. Here, Acupuncture creates its treatments with the warnings it makes on this energy network. There are 14 different energy networks in our body. The energy flowing through these channels is called “Qi” in Chinese. And thanks to this energy, we maintain our balance, and we can maintain our existence in nature. This innate energy remains constant throughout life, and when we lose this energy, we meet death.
The situation is the same in all living things, so acupuncture is applied not only to humans but also to all animals. Regardless of the disease in our system, the reason for this is shown as stenosis, obstruction or excess in the relevant energy channels. The treatment that acupuncture has been doing for 5000 years is to bring these energy channels into balance and to provide life order. Here, with the warnings it makes to the body, it also allows the body to heal itself.
Acupuncture claims that; “Painkillers cannot be a definitive solution for pain. As long as you do not eliminate the main cause of the pain, the pain will occur again.”
The highest level organization of Western medicine, the health organization that creates, accepts and authorizes all diagnoses, treatments and methods. It is WHO (World Health Organization). In 1979, he accepted Acupuncture as a scientific treatment method and organized the Acupuncture Congress for the first time. It currently recommends Acupuncture treatment for more than 150 diseases.
Among the diseases in which Acupuncture Treatment is successful, there are diseases related to many body systems; Other than the treatment of obesity (being overweight), which comes first to most people’s minds, All kinds of body aches, Headaches in migraine and similar diagnoses, Joint pains, Serious muscle pains, Low back and neck hernias, Psychological disorders, Certain periods of Cancer Diseases, Insoluble in Western medicine. Some eye diseases, Hormone disorders, Some heart diseases, Gynecological diseases, and many other difficult-to-treat diseases. Acupuncture treatment can be used for all diseases except for allergies, genetic diseases and treatments that require definitive surgery.
One of the things that excites me the most is that it significantly increases the rate of child birth in those who receive infertility and IVF treatment. Numerous studies have been conducted for all these diseases in accordance with the rules of Modern Western Medicine and successful results have been obtained. Scientific studies continue to increase rapidly.
Today, most insurances in France, Austria, Germany, England, and the United States of America have covered Acupuncture treatment. There are over 100,000 Acupuncturists and more than 250 Acupuncture training institutions in Europe.
Final Word; As a specialist in Eastern and Western Medicine, I would like to remind you that every ailment should be treated as prescribed by the World Health Organization, and not to stray from the path of science.
For a science that has a 5000-year history, tradition and philosophy, it will not be enough even if it is written full of pages or tried to be explained.
I am at your service if there are any questions we can answer.
