WHAT IS ACUPUNCTURE?

Acupuncture is a combination of the Latin words Acus (Needle) and Puncture (Punching). It means to prick a needle. Acupuncture; It is a treatment method that is made by stimulating the points on the body with certain features, generally with needles made of steel, silver or gold, as well as laser needles or magnetic waves.

Acupuncture is performed by physicians who have received acupuncture training in our country.

Acupuncture treatment has a 5000-year history. In the human body, there are points with low electrical resistance and high electrical potential, which we call acupuncture points. There are 14 meridians, 12 double and 2 single, that surround the whole body from the tips of the hands and feet to the head and are called meridians. There are also extra meridians with extra acupuncture points. There are 361 acupuncture points officially accepted by WHO (World Health Organization) and nearly 50 extra acupuncture points. New points have been added to these points with the researches made in recent years. These points on the body are used in the treatment.

We can liken acupuncture to a computer. Whichever answer we want to get from the computer, we need to press the relevant keys on the keyboard. Here, when applied to certain points with acupuncture needles, neural impulses go to the brain from those points. As a result of these stimuli, some secretions secreted from both the glands in the brain and the injection sites provide the necessary treatment.

Characteristics of the Acupuncture Point
1. These are areas with low electrical resistance.
2. Therefore, the electric potential of this region is more than 300 mV.
3. It has a high electrical capacity. (0,1–1 mF)
4. At these points, the breathing of the skin is more than in other areas.
5. The temperature of these regions is higher than other areas.
6. The audio signal is higher in these regions. (2-15 Hz., amplitude 0.5-1 mV)

Types of acupuncture:

1. BODY ACUPUNCTURE: Points on the body are used. There are 361 and nearly 50 extra points officially accepted by the WHO (World Health Organization).
2. EAR ACUPUNCTURE: Again, it has been determined by WHO that 43 ear acupuncture points are effective (corresponding to almost 10% of body points.
3. FACIAL ACUPUNCTURE: Some special areas on the face.
4. FOOT ACUPUNCTURE
5. HAND ACUPUNCTURE: Suchzok Acupuncture

6. PERIOST ACUPUNCTURE. It is stimulation of the bone periosteum with an acupuncture needle

7. NOSE ACUPUNCTURE: It is especially researched by the American Doctor Ralph Alan Dale

.

Acupuncture Application Methods
1. Needle
2. Laser
3. Ultrasound (sound wave)
4. Electro-acupuncture (Applying alternating current at a certain voltage and frequency to the point
5 Moksa (a plant used to heat the point = Artemisya Vulgaris)
6. Cupping private table j application)
8. Injection of certain drugs to the acupuncture point (saline, physiological, vitamins, etc.)
9. TENS Injection of electric current through pads without inserting a needle into the skin.
