Medically known as ENURESIS, ‘bed-wetting’, ‘bed-wetting’ among the people, this is a common health problem in children.

In children with normal development, daytime bladder muscle control develops around 2-3 years of age. It is expected to develop nocturnal bladder control between the ages of 4-5 years. If the child still wets the bed during the day and/or night after the age of 5, this should be investigated.

Changes that cause stress in life: It can be caused by reasons such as having siblings, separation of parents, loss of parents or loved ones, bullying from friends, teacher problems.

GENETIC CAUSE

Presence of other sibling, mother or father in the family is one of the reasons why the child has a bedwetting problem.

DEEP SLEEP PROBLEM

Children with deep sleep have a bedwetting problem because they cannot perceive the signals going to the brain even though the bladder is full.

TREATMENT FOR THE PROBLEM OF PSYCHOLOGICAL BREAKING

First of all, it should be explained to the family that the child does not do this consciously. It should be stated that accusatory, humiliating and punitive attitudes are a greater source of stress. The patient should be followed up with this behavior change and toilet hygiene studies. If the problem cannot be resolved with these methods, drug treatment may be considered.
