During adolescence, there is a rapid change and development in every field. Significant differences occur in physical, emotional, behavioral, social and sexual areas. Families and society now expect adolescents to take more responsibility and make fewer mistakes, within the framework of increasing age and developing physical structure. Especially towards the end of adolescence, they go through a stressful period such as choosing a profession. In summary, adolescence is a period of rapid change and expectations… Rapid change creates an unstable and fragile structure. The faster something changes, the harder it is to define it. For this reason, many adolescents have difficulty defining themselves. It seeks answers to questions such as “who am I”, “what am I”, “what is my purpose in this world”, “what will I be”. They can overdo it when they love or hate. Their requests are usually temporary. It can calm down at the same speed as it shines fast. They value honor and success more. He is also open-handed and benevolent. He has lofty goals and dreams. Novelty seeking and curiosity are evident. Since they do not have enough experience, their judgment is not very developed. He thinks he knows everything, and he can resist his mistakes until the end. On the other hand, it shows fast trusting and quick attachment characteristics. Interest in the opposite sex has increased. There is an effort to get closer to the opposite sex and to make himself liked. Compliments from the opposite sex are very important.
During adolescence, a disproportionate physical appearance and clumsiness can be seen due to the rapid growth of the body. Erection (hardening of the penis) and ejaculation (emptying of the semen) begins in boys, menarche (first menstruation) occurs in girls. After the first menstrual period, irregular menstrual periods begin to occur regularly over time. Sometimes these changes are a cause for anxiety, especially in girls. Therefore, mothers should inform their daughters about these expected changes in their daughters. They should explain that this is a normal process and should not be feared. During puberty, a thickening of the male voice occurs; the muscle ratio in their body increases. In girls, the breasts become prominent. Some men may also have temporary enlargements in the chest. In girls and boys, hair growth begins in the armpits, legs and genital areas. Facial hair growth occurs in men. Facial acne may occur. Sometimes these changes are a cause for concern. In the early period, the adolescent tries to adapt to these changes. Many adolescents compare their bodies with others. They spend more time in front of mirrors. They may perceive a minor problem in one part of the body as an exaggerated problem. In order for the adolescence period to be healthy, a body image suitable for reality must be created and the adolescent must accept this image. In the absence of this, self-perception decreases and an increase in preoccupations with the body and escaping from society may occur.
Teenagers can process more information more quickly; they begin to better evaluate possibilities and consequences, and their capacity for abstraction increases. However, improvements are noted in moral development, social cognition, and the ability to understand others. There may be an increase in ideological, political and religious interests. A firm belief in various forms of thought may be seen, or various ideologies, political, social or religious rules may be ruthlessly criticized. The perception that death is the end point in life becomes definite. He begins to look for new objects of love outside the family. It is inclined towards the opposite sex and desires to approach. Adolescents who are separated from the family and their parents in a healthy way do not really break away from their family (from their own mother and father), but they have also achieved independence. An individual who is both attached to the family and independent in his own field has been raised. Now the parents have started to get the efficiency of the education they have given.
