UEDAŞ carried out the blood donation event, which has been a tradition for 9 years, with the support of the Turkish Red Crescent this year.
Uludağ Elektrik Dağıtım A.Ş., which provides electricity distribution services to a population of over 5 million people in Southern Marmara. (UEDAŞ) continues its activities by feeding it with social and cultural activities. The blood donation event, which was held for the first time by UEDAŞ in 2014 and has become a tradition since then, completed a busy day with the participation of the employees in the blood vehicle established at the UEDAŞ Headquarters Campus. The ‘Give blood, give life’ project, in which more than 1,300 blood donations have been made since its inception, continues to grow every year.
41 volunteer UEDAŞ employees who were not found to have any health problems in the pre-examination process, which was carried out in the presence of a specialist doctor, donated blood and 29 volunteer employees donated stem cells. While the blood donation made by 1 person meets the blood needs of 3 people in need, it is of great importance that people whose health status is not suitable for blood donation are stem cell donors. At this point, Red Crescent officials informed the UEDAŞ employees in detail and answered the questions.
