Gynecology Obstetrics and General Surgery Specialist, Sex Therapist Assoc. Dr. Ebru Zülfikaroğlu told her own story and explained the place of women in society and business life in the Women’s Day special content of the MAG March issue…
Ebru Zülfikaroğlu, who said, “It is very difficult to be a woman and a doctor in our society,” continued as follows: “I am very sorry that our profession and womanhood have been trampled on at the point we have come to over the years. Despite everything, the happiness and reconnection of one of my patients to life dissipates all my sadness. This happiness is worth everything. For this, I continue to produce and work on my own land with passion again every day. I am sure that my young colleagues who have just started their career will overcome obstacles with this passion. Men are portrayed as superior and skilled in every field, not just in medicine or surgery. This is even more so in our society.
In the early days of my profession, there were those who said that a woman cannot be a surgeon, or even a doctor. Now, just because I am me, I have patients who come to me for surgery. In fact, it is up to us to correct this perception. The more we appear on the stage, the more we show ourselves, the more people will get used to it and the prejudices will be broken.”
Sharing the definition of contemporary woman, Ebru Zülfikaroğlu said, “Contemporary women should have their own unique way. The modern woman does not pretend to be, she is sincere and sincere. First of all, he is sincere and honest with himself. She accepts, respects, loves, owns herself with all her faults, defeats, and weaknesses. She takes care of herself, heals her wounds. Empathizes, values, is sensitive to society. She believes in science, she. It renews itself in the light of science, it is not prejudiced, it is egalitarian. She loves people, animals, nature, with this love she feeds and develops her soul”.
