Rector Prof. Dr. Under the leadership of Necdet Budak and with the support of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, EUTF Hospital continued to heal in the last 4 years, including the pandemic period. At hospital; From polyclinic to surgeries, from emergency service to organ transplantation, high-quality health services met with patients with state-of-the-art devices.
Reminding that EUTF Hospital was given A Plus status by the Ministry of Health, Rector Prof. Dr. Necdet Budak said, “From the day we took office, we paid special attention to our hospital and paid off our debts with the support of our President, as well as put state-of-the-art devices and modern clinics into service. The change experienced in our hospital, which is among the reference health institutions of Turkey, especially in the last 4 years, has caused international patients to prefer us. In the said four years, our Hospital; Provided outpatient services to 4 million 464 thousand 698 patients. 804 thousand 167 citizens benefited from our emergency service. During this time, as it is known, we also experienced a Covid-19 pandemic. Our hospital, which came out of the pandemic process sadly, treated 54 thousand 852 Covid patients. Our surgeons, who are experts in their fields, performed 414 thousand 215 surgeries. During this period, 6 thousand 526 tourists were treated in our hospital for various reasons. In the painful Izmir earthquake we experienced, our hospital successfully completed this process by meeting almost 100 percent of the need.”
“Second spring for patients with transplants”
Stating that successful transplantations were carried out in the Faculty of Medicine hospital with the support of EU Organ Transplantation Application and Research Center, Rector Prof. Dr. Budak said, “The transplants performed by our successful physicians at our University, which is one of the most important organ transplant centers in Turkey, gave many of our citizens the chance to experience the second spring. In the last four years, in our hospital; 13 heart, 11 lung, 193 liver transplantations, 89 limbal stem cell transplantations, 195 hematopoieic cell transplantations, 25 haploindic transplantations, 4 cord blood transplantations and 176 autologous hematopoieic cell transplantations were performed. While our university has made a name for itself worldwide with its successful organ transplant operations, it also raises awareness on this issue with its organ donation activities.
