Microsurgery method in lumbar hernia

by clinic

As a result of classical lumbar hernia surgeries, which have been performed for about sixty years, the inability of patients to fully recover, long-term pain, and late return to work led surgeons to search for this issue and the Microdiscectomy method was found by Caspar and Yaşargil twenty-two years ago.
I have been applying the Lumbar Microsurgery method to my patients for about 12 years. For the last 7 years, we have been applying the endomicrodiscectomy method to our patients with indications.

With the microsurgery method, the patients’ stand-up and return to work processes have been shortened, among the people, I will be disabled after hernia surgery, the fear of not returning to normal has left it to a sense of confidence.

With the microsurgery method applied in lumbar hernia, patients can get up and walk six to seven hours after the operation and go home after staying in the hospital for one night. Thanks to this method, only an incision of one and a half to two centimeters is made and no stitches are placed on the skin surface after the surgery.

Performing the surgery under advanced microscopes enables the nerves in the operation area to be seen at 25 or 40 magnification, thus reducing the risk of damaging the nerves to zero.
With this method, herniated disc surgeries are no longer a fearful dream, and patients with herniated discs are prevented from worrying about their illness. Patients can be discharged on the day of surgery or the next day, and can return to their normal lives within a week.

Some of our patients, on the other hand, are afraid of getting narcosis, not surgery. Many have a fear of falling asleep and never waking up. With the use of epidural anesthesia in lumbar hernia surgeries, this fear has been eliminated, and lumbar hernia surgeries have become easy to perform. Patients can easily chat during the operation. As a result of the last reliable anesthetic agents used, we find the risk of general anesthesia close to zero.
