Keçiören Municipality has started psychosocial support activities for earthquake-affected children staying in the earthquake areas throughout Ankara and Keçiören Osmangazi Social Life Center Patient and Relatives Guest House, Keçiören Municipality Social Development Center (TOGEM) and Ali Özdemir Sports Hall Guesthouse.
In the studies where 6 psychologists, 2 creative drama trainers and preschool teachers are assigned, psychosocial support activities are carried out with the content of pre-school education, mind games, meeting, creative drama and games.
OUR FIRST TARGET AUDIENCE IS CHILDREN
Making a statement on the subject, Keçiören Mayor Turgut Altınok said, “What we can do for our brothers, flowers and angels in the earthquake is less. We started to provide psychosocial support services for our citizens and angels staying in our facilities within our municipality. Of course, our target audience in the first place is our children. In addition, we inform parents about how they should approach their children, especially with regard to communication. We are doing and will continue to do whatever we can to minimize the damage caused by the earthquake on the individual and to reintegrate our people into our society in a healthy way.” he said.
SERVES ALL EARTHQUAKE VICTIMS IN ANKARA
Meanwhile, all earthquake survivors in Ankara who are not staying in municipal facilities or placed in the homes of volunteer citizens can receive psychosocial support from the Keçiören Municipality Family Therapy Center.
