Reflux is a disease that is seen in one of every 5 people today and negatively affects the quality of life. It occurs as a result of the acidic stomach contents overflowing into the esophagus and the most common symptom is a burning sensation in the stomach and in the middle of the chest. If this burning occurs twice a week or more, reflux disease may be in question. Apart from burning, it can be felt that food comes into the mouth. Some people complain of a bitter taste or acidity in the mouth. In the treatment of reflux disease, primarily nutritional recommendations and drug treatments are applied, but if the reflux is advanced, drug treatment is not sufficient. In these cases, surgical treatment comes to the fore.
