Sexuality is one of the instincts that has existed throughout human history. Although there have been changes in its function, definition and even perception, it has not lost its importance until today. The basic need of the human race, based on sex, pleasure, sexual orientation and love, has been called “sexuality”.
Freud, the founder of psychoanalysis, stated that there is always sexuality in human psychology and behavior. It has been added to the literature that the psychosexual development theory is based on satisfying this eroticism, in which the individual is erotic-focused, and that this is a sexuality that develops according to the electra and oedipus complex. He stated that neurotic states occur in the individual in the future as eroticism is not satisfied in the stages of psychosexual theory. Later, Freud put forward the concept of libido as the motivation to live. According to Freud, the only thing that connects man to life is libido. According to Freud, the dissatisfaction of the libido makes people sick psychologically. Rather than something that progresses steadily, libido is a phenomenon that periodically decreases and increases. Everything experienced in daily life, such as joy, sadness, stress, affects libido negatively or positively.
One out of every 3 people experience sexual dysfunction at some point in their life. On the basis of this, the place of cultural values is of great importance. For this reason, sexual dysfunctions vary from person to person, from culture to culture. In the literature, in conservative countries, for reasons such as not providing sexual education, giving importance to virginity or limiting sexuality; orgasmic contractions, vaginismus in men; It has been stated that conditions such as penile hardening and premature ejaculation are more common than countries that are free from sexuality.
VAGIINISMUS
Vagina; sheath and ismus; Vaginismus, which is formed by the combination of verb words, is defined as a very painful disorder that prevents sexual intercourse accompanied by fear or pain. Contraction can cause this contraction not only in the case of active intercourse, but also in the idea of sexual intercourse. It has been stated that among the causes of vaginismus is the effect of the conservative culture in which the woman grows up. In general, vaginismus is seen in women who cannot oppose the authority, show harmonious features, are touchy and passive in society. Families in societies that perceive and see sexuality as “inferiority” can be given as an example. Taboos and myths on the subject of sexuality in the society we live in lead women negatively towards sexuality and make women passive against sexuality. In this case, women feel disgusted with sexuality and activate the vaginismus defense mechanism during sexual intercourse by placing sexual intercourse as an “attack” in the unconscious. Since there is no sexual experience before marriage, this situation occurs with marriage and the situation is seen as a disaster. Vaginismus is 100% cured with the right treatment.
Erectile Dysfunction (Erectile Dysfunction)
It is the condition of not being able to maintain the erection until the end of the sexual intercourse or to achieve sufficient erection at the beginning or during the sexual intercourse. The most important point is that the problem should not be limited to one or several times, the problem should be long-lasting or repetitive. Due to the common myths on the subject, when individuals cannot achieve an erection even once, they go from doctor to doctor and panic. Today, a lot of studies have been done on this problem and its causes are discussed in four main groups;
1- Psychological reasons
2- Physical causes
3- Both mental and physical reasons
4- They became unknown
In such a problem, firstly, hormone tests are applied to the patient because the male hormone testosterone directs sexuality. If the hormone tests are low, the sexual functionality of the patient can be increased with treatment. However, if the test result is normal, there may be some psychological reasons underlying this problem. The experiences of the individual in childhood and reasons such as sexual aversion can cause erectile dysfunction.
