Our minds cannot distinguish between facts and images. Therefore, memories from the past or all our dreams about the future occupy our minds as if they were happening. Our body is right here, but our mind is elsewhere.
Thus, we carry the sadness of the events that have happened and the stress of the situations that have never happened yet, and we look for the happiness of the day in the future.
To stay in the moment is to devote all our energy and attention to the present moment by clearing it from the past and the future.
If our mind and body are in the same place and we can feel the moment with all our senses, we can enjoy the air we breathe, the food we eat, the conversation we have, the music we listen to, the sight of our eyes, and nourish our soul.
