Sex life is worse in people with snoring and sleep apnea than in normal people. In a study conducted with over 1000 women whose spouses snore and have apnea, 81% of the bed partners of those who snore and have apnea say that they are not satisfied with their sleep, and therefore they feel tired and unhappy during the day. 70% of the spouses of the patients state that they prefer to sleep in another room as a solution, and alcohol taken on vacation makes this situation worse. 50% of men over the age of 50 have snoring and 10% have sleep apnea. So even at best, one out of every two couples has trouble sleeping.
While some sleep diseases, especially sleep apnea syndrome, cause impotence in men, decreased sexual desire is frequently observed in women.
What’s more, poor sleep means less productivity at work the next day, less health, and more road accidents on the road.
Some of the snoring and sleep apnea patients reach the physician while investigating the problem of sexual inadequacy. After the diagnosis and treatment of sleep apnea syndrome, sexual problems usually resolve spontaneously without the need for additional treatment.
