SMALL INCIS HEART SURGERY

MINIMALLY INVASIVE

I will enlighten you in a simple and short way without confusing you.

In classical heart surgeries, the sternum is cut. If you look at the picture below, you can see the topography of the heart, which is extremely well preserved, with the rib cage and the plank of faith.

As a result of developing techniques and experiences, smaller incisions have become increasingly important for both cosmetic and patient comfort. These surgeries are called small incision surgeries or Minimally Invasive surgeries. MINIMAL INVASIVE simply means surgery with minimal damage.

Such approaches may not be applied in all patients. Each patient is evaluated according to their own disease and degree.

Such surgeries can be grouped under three headings.

  1. The faith board is completely cut in classical surgery.

  1. In some surgeries, the belief board is partially cut and operations are performed.

  1. Surgeries performed without cutting the faith board: Minimally Invasive Surgeries.
  1. Small Incision Under the Left Breast: This technique is often used in bypass surgery. Approaching from the left, the most frequently bypassed LAD, Diaganol branches and, if appropriate, OM branches can be bypassed. Bypassing the right vein can be challenging and inconvenient in location.

  1. Right Anterior Rib Incision: With this type of surgery, mitral or aortic valve surgeries can be performed depending on the rib distance.

  1. Right Underarm Incision: This cosmetically preferred incision is used in mitral valve surgeries.

These incisions are planned according to the patient’s risks and disease.
