Tension-type headache increases as the day progresses and may persist for days.

Patients have a depressed mood and facial expression. There may be complaints such as difficulty concentrating and insomnia. Nausea and vomiting may also occur, although not as much as in migraine patients.

Migraine and tension-type headache can be seen together in some patients.
