It is recommended to start child-centered education after the age of 18 months, when the child, mother and father are ready. We can say that the child, between the ages of 18 months and 3 years, is suitable and ready for toilet training. Toilet training is an important step in the social development of the child. If the child can express his wishes with words, can walk, can take off simple clothes on his own, usually stays dry for 2-3 hours during the day, has a routine when he goes to the toilet, knows the concepts of wet and dry, and expresses his discomfort from the wetness of the bottom, look for signs that show that he is ready. Determine the right time for the baby’s toilet training, introduce the toilet, be positive and patient. Periods when the family or the child experience change and stress can create resistance. Periods of new sibling, moving, and losses can cause problems in toilet training.
