What is homeopathy, does it help in cancer treatment?

by clinic

Homeopathy, which is a combination of the words homeos (similar) and pathos (pain), is based on the logic of “like heals like”. Homeopathy, which was first used in the 18th century, is one of the most commonly used complementary medicine methods. The person who applies it is called “Homeopath”, and the treatment agent recommended by Hometpat is called “remedi”.

The origin of homeopathy is based on an interesting observation. As it is known, malaria was a serious public health problem in the past (it is still a serious problem in societies with low sociocultural level). The signs and symptoms of malaria are fever, chills and sweating. When quinines, which are the most frequently used drugs in the treatment of malaria, are used excessively, that is, in case of quinine poisoning, fever, chills and sweating are seen. Based on this observation, I wonder, “Does like heal like?” the idea was put forward.

It is believed that homeopathic medicine has the same effect on the life force as the disease. Therefore, it is said that life force shows the same or different intensities against the disease and the homeopathic medicine produced for this disease. The principles on which homeopathic therapy is based are:

– Like heals like.

– A single drug is used.

– The lowest dose is always used.

– The potency of the remedy increases as it is diluted.

– Only homeopathic medicine is used.

If 1 scale of medicine is completed to 10 scales with water, 1X; 1C if completed to 100 scales; If it is completed to 50,000 scales, it is called 1Q. The master mix is absorbed into lactose tablets after dilution and shaking method and used in this way. According to homeopaths, the substance recommended in the treatment is very safe because it is highly diluted and does not interact with current medications.

Is there scientific proof of homeopathy?

It has been claimed that 73 of 90 patients treated with homeopathy in the London Cholera Epidemic of 1854 regained their health, whereas approximately 40% of the patients treated with standard cholera drugs of that period could be saved. However, these results could not be supported by subsequent studies.

In modern times, many clinical studies have investigated the power of homeopathy in curing diseases. None of these studies found strong evidence that homeopathy cures any disease, including cancer.

An article published in the prestigious medical journal The Lancet in 2005 compiled the results of 110 homeopathy studies. These studies have questioned whether homeopathy treats various diseases. It was also looked at whether the benefits of homeopathy were due to the placebo effect. The placebo effect is a pharmacologically ineffective drug eliciting an effect based on suggestion and belief.

According to this review, the power of homeopathy to cure diseases is incomparably weaker than modern medicine. However, in some studies, homeopathy practices have been observed to provide an improvement in the general condition of the person, but this effect has been interpreted as a placebo effect.

As a result, it has not been scientifically or clinically proven that homeopathy has any benefit other than the placebo effect. Homeopathic remedies are generally considered harmless as they do not contain any active ingredients. However, an approach that uses these drugs, especially in place of standard cancer treatments, will seriously endanger patients, so we do not recommend it.
